Air Cooled Reactors
Linear reactor is a powerful tool for solving current SCR drive and variable frequency drives (VFDs) application problems. Installing a reactor at the input and output terminals of electrical equipment provides protection and improves performance. Linear reactors absorb most interference on the power line. This interference can damage or crash controllers such as inverters(VFDs), stepless speed controllers, and other voltage-sensing devices.
The Application of AC Linear Reactor
1. Connected in series between the power supply and the inverter input to suppress high-order harmonics in the input current and reduce the impact of inrush current on the inverter.
2. Connected in series between the inverter and the motor to protect the motor, as the IGBT in the inverter generates high voltage when it switches off.
Selection Guidelines
1. Determine the rated horsepower or rated current of the drive or motor.
2. Select the supply voltage (208, 240, 480, or 600V).
3. Determine the required impedance (%) for the application.
4. Inductor quality and value
