Water Cooled Capacitor Discharge Welding Transformers

A capacitor discharge type spot weld transformer is a key component within a CD spot welder. Unlike traditional  AC transformer-based spot welders that continuously supply current, this system discharges a large, instantaneous current to create a weld.

The process involves using a transformer to charge a capacitor bank. The stored energy is then discharged through the high-current spot weld transformer, which melts and joins metal parts with minimal thermal distortion.
